“Motown Miracle” is the compelling true story of the Detroit Rockies, a team of mostly Black boys from the inner city who overcame insurmountable odds to become hockey champions. The film follows their remarkable journey to win the 1995 Can/Am Tournament in Lake Placid, New York—breaking a 30-year losing streak against Canada for Team USA!

JOE DOUGHRITY
Executive Producer
Joe is an award-winning filmmaker, starting out as a PA on “Boyz N the ‘Hood”, and mentored by John Singleton on “Poetic Justice” and “Higher Learning.” A Writers Guild of America member, Joe is also currently producing “Rock & Roll Victims”, a biopic series about the pioneering Black punk rock band Death. He is represented by Linda Lichter of Lichter, Grossman, Nichols & Adler.

LEONARD VanSCOTT
Executive Producer
Leonard VanScott is a Producer and content creator from New York City. A film school graduate of Columbia College Hollywood, Leonard launched his career as a 20th Century Fox intern. This led to a PA role for the FOX show, “Red & Meth” starring hip hop legends Redman and Method Man. Leonard produces music videos and short films for a variety of artists, and is currently developing feature film and TV projects.

ROBERT EVANGELISTA
Executive Producer
Robert Evangelista is President of The Business of Winning, LLC, a producer of programs in Leadership Development, Team Building, Performance Coaching, and Motivation based on his award-winning book. A former General Motors executive, Evangelista was head coach of the Detroit Rockies hockey team, the historic all-black hockey team that won the 1995 Can/Am Challenge tournament in Lake Placid, NY.
